Good morning and happy Saturday! The Tour de France and Tour de Fleece are almost over. It’s down to the wire now for me, and there is a lot of work to be finished before tomorrow. I have errands to run early this morning, and this afternoon I am helping my brother move, so I’m going to make this short. Besides, you’ve seen enough pictures of the singles that I’ve spun.
Some plying has already started though. There will be another stage of plying for this yarn, but I can at least show you these.
I had hoped to be a little farther along at this point, but I’m happy with where I am right now. Finishing is still a certainty, and there will be finished yarn to show you next week. Speaking of next week, next Saturday, August 1st is the Third Annual Iron Spinner Competition! This event takes place from 2 to 4 PM at the Schoharie County Sunshine Fair in Cobleskill, and sponsored by the Golden Fleece Spinners and Weavers Guild in Schoharie. This will be my third time competing, and I hope my third win too. Technically, the first year I took second place, but that’s still a win. I haven’t had a lot of success with art yarns outside of this competition, but under pressure I seem to always be able to pull something together and make it work. It’s a lot of fun, so if you’re free next Saturday come and check us out!
That’s all I have for this morning.
I’m off to ply! Have a great weekend!
