Spinning at the Schaghticoke Fall Festival Today

Good morning, and happy Saturday! I will be at the Schaghticoke Fall Festival today demonstrating spinning on both spindles and a wheel. My Lendrum will be available for anyone who wants to give it a try, and I will bring my Polonaise to spin on for the day. Even though it’s not the most travel friendly wheel, I love to take it to public events because it’s so pretty.

I have prepared a small display outlining a short history of spinning, and have samples of unwashed, washed, and carded wool, and other fibers like silk, alpaca, llama, and flax for people to touch, as well as several examples of some hands-pun yarns. Any day when I get to sit around talking to people about what I like to do is a good day, and I’m really looking forward to it.

The car is just about all packed and I am finishing up my second cup of coffee. There are a few more things to do here and then I’m off. Have a great weekend!
