Sure, blame it on the dog

Good morning and happy Saturday! My friend Rob is picking me up in a couple of hours and we are heading up to Washington County to visit a few of the farms on the tour. He’s driving, which is a good thing because I am having some shoulder issues today. It started out earlier in the week feeling like a pinched nerve with pain and stiffness in my neck, and that’s what it might have been up until yesterday. The pain and stiffness in my neck was even worse yesterday and n the process of stretching a moving to relieve that discomfort I seem to have aggravated the shoulder joint and now that feels even worse than the neck pain, which now seems to be gone. My shoulder hurts pretty bad, but I’ll be okay. The worst thing about it is that it’s cutting into my knitting and spinning time!

I have been blaming the pain I’m in on the extra dog that is staying with us the past few days. He sleeps in bed with us and our other dogs which forces all of us to readjust our positions, but to be honest, I think it started a little earlier in the week when I had to pull up some of the asphalt walkway in front of our house. It appears that some critters burrowed under the walkway for the winter and the recent sunshine warm weather caused it to cave in in a few spots. I have a call out to a local paving company to come and give me an estimate to repair the walkway.

Speaking of having an extra dog in the house…Carmine is such an adorable little guy and he used to live here for a while as one of our foster dogs. He has come back to visit quite frequently since his adoption, and stays with us when his people go on vacation. That’s what brings him here for this visit. The only place we have to put his crate is in my craft room, which is small to begin with. Carmine’s crate takes up a lot of space, but it does leave me enough room to sit at one of my wheels to spin.

There are only two wedges to complete on my pinwheel blanket for the color challenge at our Men’s Spring Knitting Retreat . Since there’s a giant dog crate taking up space in my craft room I have nowhere to spread it out to take a decent picture right now. When it done and all the ends have been worked in I will get a picture.
That’s all I have time for this morning. Sitting upright seems to be comfortable enough this morning so I am going to try and do some spinning before it is time to get myself ready for the day. I am almost done with the first half of my last 4 ounces of polwarth in the ‘Caribe!’ colorway from Susan’s Spinning Bunny . I will have more to say about this next week, plus pictures and a recap of our farm visits today.
Have a great weekend!
